webkraftstudios.com had changed very little since 2020. It still worked, but it hid years of projects behind a row of stickers with a line or two each.
What stayed
- The animated logo. It draws itself in on hover and now folds down to WK as you scroll.
- The Norwich sunburst, with the city, the windmill and the tractor crossing the fields.
- The peel-back stickers for every project and service.
What is new
- A slider of featured work at the top of the home page.
- Case studies with screenshots, a before and after slider and a gallery.
- A timeline of the work since 2003, built from 26 stories that were already on the site.
- Dark mode, with stars over the city at night.
Under the bonnet
- A theme written from scratch, with no framework and no jQuery.
- WordPress 6.0 to 7.1. Active plugins down from 31 to 15.
- No XML-RPC, no username scans and security headers on every page.
