The Crop Signals Project catalogues crop circles from around the world. Every pattern, or signal, has its date, location and a description. Visitors can browse them on a map and a timeline or search them by category.
Members rate each signal on a scale from human made to genuine signal. The ratings sort the archive, so the most convincing patterns rise to a Top 12. Members can also submit new signals and talk them through in the forums.
It is our own project and something a bit different. We built it on WordPress with a custom theme, a shop for the companion book through WooCommerce and forums through bbPress. Green code rains down behind every page. The logo is drawn in the style of the patterns themselves.
In October 2026 we rebuilt it. The home page now shows the top rated signals pressing into a field of digital grass. Maps moved to OpenStreetMap, the timeline was fixed, a videos page arrived and every blog post was rewritten with its facts checked against the catalogue.
